Whispered Dune is a softly textured backdrop in calming beige and warm taupe tones, designed to evoke the quiet elegance of windswept desert sands. Its neutral palette and subtle brushwork make it a versatile choice for newborns, maternity, fine art portraits, and timeless studio setups.
Measurements are always listed width first.
Landscape sizes are width × height.
Sweep sizes are width × total length.
A sweep includes a wall and floor printed continuously on one piece.
Customers needing 14 feet of width must select 14' × 9' landscape, not 9' × 14' sweep.
The first stage of production begins immediately after an order is placed. Because of this, we are unable to make changes once an order has been submitted.

Processing Time vs. Shipping Time
Processing time is separate from shipping transit time. Processing refers to the time required to create and prepare your made-to-order backdrop. Shipping transit time begins only after production is complete and the package has been transferred to the carrier.
Unless Rush Processing is purchased when the order is placed and the service is currently available, orders are processed in the order they are received.
Rush Processing may be unavailable during our busy season, major sales, and other periods of unusually high order volume.
Choosing an expedited shipping service does not shorten production time or move an order ahead in the production line. It only reduces the carrier’s estimated transit time after the order has completed production and shipped.
Processing times are averages and may vary based on order volume. During our busy season, during a large sale, or immediately following a large sale, processing may extend beyond the average timeframe.

Expedited Shipping for Floor Mats

Floor mats, Poly Paper, vinyl, and fabric backdrops may require different packaging and may ship separately.

Because our backdrops are made to order in the exact design, material, size, crop, orientation, and quantity selected, all sales are final except as specifically outlined in our Return Policy.

Choosing the right backdrop material depends on how you plan to hang, photograph, store, and use your backdrop. Each option has its own finish, weight, care requirements, size availability, and handling recommendations.
All HSD Backdrops are printed in the USA.

Not sure which material to select? Royal Fleece is our most popular all-around option. Dream Fabric is a popular choice when a sewn pole pocket is preferred, while vinyl may be helpful for sessions requiring a gently wipeable surface.

Backdrop Material Descriptions
Poly Paper Backdrops
Poly Paper is a lightweight, synthetic-coated paper that is tear-resistant and provides an affordable backdrop option. It is much lighter than vinyl or fabric and may be attached to a backdrop stand with clamps or secured directly to a wall with blue painter’s tape.
Poly Paper has a matte, glare-free finish and produces a bright, vibrant print.
Each Poly Paper backdrop includes a small white border around the printed design, typically approximately ¼ inch. This border is included within the overall listed dimensions. When pairing a backdrop and floor, the border can usually be tucked underneath the floor portion so it is not visible in photographs.
Poly Paper may be used as a floor drop, but it must be handled carefully. Sliding props across the surface, walking on it, or placing rough objects on it may cause scratches, scuffs, footprints, or creases.
Poly Paper is not recommended for cake smash sessions because it cannot be wiped clean. Liquids and frosting may permanently stain or damage the printed surface.
Poly Paper Care Instructions
- Store Poly Paper rolled, preferably inside its original shipping tube.
- Do not fold the backdrop.
- Do not wash or wipe the surface with water, cleaning products, or other liquids.
- Lift and place props instead of dragging them across the backdrop.
- Avoid walking directly on the printed surface whenever possible.
Poly Paper may develop a slight wave or mild warping during printing, while hanging, or while lying flat. This is a normal characteristic of the material and is not considered a defect.
Shipping limitation: Due to the increased risk of damage to oversized tubes during international transit, Poly Paper backdrops are available for shipping within the United States only.
Royal Fleece Backdrops
Royal Fleece is a beautiful, budget-friendly alternative to Dream Fabric and our standard Fleece. It is softer than our other fleece option and has a slight stretch, allowing it to be gently pulled taut for a smooth appearance.
The edges are laser cut to help prevent fraying. Royal Fleece does not include hemming or a pole pocket, which helps us keep production costs lower and pass those savings on to our customers.
Royal Fleece can be attached to a backdrop stand using clamps. Although it is one of our more affordable materials, it photographs just as beautifully as our higher-priced options.
Please note: Listed backdrop sizes are approximate. Royal Fleece is measured before printing and may shrink slightly during the printing process.
Dream Fabric Backdrops
Dream Fabric is made from 100% polyester specifically intended for photography backdrops. It has a slight stretch, allowing it to be gently pulled taut for a smooth, professional appearance.
Dream Fabric backdrops measuring 8' × 6' and larger include a sewn pole pocket along the top for easy hanging on a backdrop stand.
Smaller sizes, including 8' × 5', 7' × 5', 6' × 5', and 5' × 5', are laser cut and do not include a pole pocket.
The sewn pole pocket uses approximately 2–3 inches of the total backdrop height. Dream Fabric is an excellent choice for detailed scenes and room designs that look best when the material is gently pulled taut.
Dream Fabric Care Instructions
- Dream Fabric arrives folded.
- To help remove fold lines, place it in a dryer on low heat for approximately 5–10 minutes.
- A handheld steamer may also be used carefully.
- Store the backdrop folded when it is not in use.

Fleece Backdrops
Our Fleece backdrops feature the printed design on the front with a white reverse side. The material has a matte, glare-free finish and is naturally wrinkle-resistant, allowing most backdrops to be hung and photographed shortly after opening.
Fleece backdrops do not include a pole pocket and may be attached to a backdrop stand using clamps.
Each backdrop is hemmed on all four sides, and the weight of the material allows it to hang beautifully.
Fleece Care Instructions
- Fleece arrives folded and may be stored folded.
- If hard creases develop, place the backdrop in a dryer on low heat for approximately 10 minutes.
- A handheld steamer may also be used carefully.

Our 80" × 60" Fleece backdrops are made from a slightly lighter-weight fleece material than our other Fleece sizes.
Vinyl Backdrops
Our matte vinyl backdrops are made with a durable fabric core coated with a thin layer of vinyl. This heavy-duty material works well as either a backdrop or floor drop.
Vinyl is a popular choice for cake smash and other messy sessions because it can be gently wiped clean. However, frosting, food coloring, liquids, and other materials can still stain the printed surface.
Although vinyl has a matte finish, it is not completely glare-free. Darker designs may show some sheen where studio lights reflect from the printed surface, so lighting placement and angles may need to be adjusted.
If even minimal sheen is a concern, consider Royal Fleece, Fleece, Dream Fabric, or Poly Paper instead. Many customers still prefer vinyl because of its durability and easy-care surface.
Vinyl Care Instructions
- Store vinyl rolled, preferably inside its original shipping tube.
- Never fold a vinyl backdrop.
- Wipe gently with a damp cloth only.
- Do not use household cleaners, chemicals, or abrasive products.
- Test frosting or messy materials on a small corner before the session.
- Clean spills promptly and do not allow liquids to remain on the surface.
- Lift and place props instead of dragging them across the printed surface.
Material Care, Hanging & Shipping
Will the Same Design Match Across Different Materials?
Not exactly. Each material may use different inks, printers, coatings, textures, or production processes. These variables can affect brightness, saturation, contrast, undertones, and the overall appearance of the design.
If you plan to pair the same design as a backdrop and floor, we strongly recommend ordering both pieces:
- In the same material
- At the same time
- On the same order
This provides the closest possible color match. Scale and crop may still vary when different sizes are selected.

Fabric and Fleece Shipping
Royal Fleece, Fleece, and Dream Fabric backdrops ship folded.
Fabric and fleece backdrops may ship separately from Poly Paper, vinyl, and floor mats because the products require different packaging.
If your order contains multiple materials, you may receive separate packages, tracking numbers, and delivery dates.
Poly Paper and Vinyl Shipping Tubes
Poly Paper and vinyl backdrops ship rolled inside heavy-duty shipping tubes. The end caps may be stapled and taped securely to prevent them from opening during transit.
Before removing the backdrop, carefully inspect the tube and completely remove every staple. A remaining staple may scratch or damage the printed material as it is pulled from the tube.
Store the backdrop inside its original tube whenever possible.
Hanging Extra-Large Fabric Backdrops
One way to secure an extra-large fabric backdrop is to allow a small amount of material to extend onto the floor and then fold the excess back toward the wall.
Place a clean 2" × 4" piece of wood behind the backdrop and on top of the folded material. The added weight can help hold the backdrop in place while you gently pull the fabric taut.
You may also secure the corners to the floor with appropriate tape or attach the backdrop directly to a wall.
If you ordered a sweep with a continuous wall-and-floor portion, placing a floor mat underneath the floor section may help prevent the fabric from shifting.
Avoiding Wrinkles, Creases, Scuffs & Scratches
Poly Paper and vinyl are resistant to tearing, but they are still printed surfaces that must be handled carefully. They may be scratched, scuffed, creased, or permanently marked if props are dragged across them or if they are stored improperly.
- Store Poly Paper and vinyl rolled inside their original shipping tubes whenever possible.
- Never fold Poly Paper or vinyl.
- If the original tube is unavailable, roll the backdrop tightly and store it horizontally rather than standing it upright.
- The opening in the center of the roll should remain round. If it becomes oval, the backdrop may not be rolled tightly enough and could begin to flatten or crease.
- Lift and place props rather than dragging them across the printed surface.
- Avoid walking directly on Poly Paper because shoes may leave footprints, scuffs, or scratches.

Viewing Large-Format Photography Backdrops
Large-format printed backdrops are created to be photographed from a distance and are not intended to be closely inspected in the same way as a small photographic print.
Some printed textures and details may appear softer when viewed up close. When studio space allows, placing the subject approximately 4–5 feet in front of the backdrop can help create separation and allow the design to function as a softly focused photography background.
The ideal distance will vary depending on your backdrop size, lens, aperture, camera settings, lighting, and desired depth of field.

Our backdrops are made to order. The shipping time shown at checkout applies only after production is complete and the carrier has received your package. Choosing expedited shipping does not shorten production time.
Every backdrop is produced in the exact design, size, and material selected.
Weather, seasonal volume, routing changes, and other carrier delays may affect delivery.
Please do not schedule a session based solely on an estimated delivery date.
You will receive a shipping confirmation with tracking once your order leaves our facility.
Important: Poly Paper and Vinyl Shipping
Poly Paper and Vinyl backdrops ship in oversized tubes and often experience longer transit times. Ground delivery to the East Coast and Midwest may average 2–4 weeks, and tracking may pause for several days. Tubes cannot be shipped through UPS. For faster or more predictable shipping, consider a fabric or fleece material or select USPS Priority Mail when available.

Processing Time vs. Shipping Time
Our photography backdrops are made to order based on the design, size, material, crop, orientation, and quantity selected. Production time begins before an order is transferred to the carrier.
Processing times vary by material and current order volume. High seasonal demand and large sales may increase production time. Please review our current Processing Times before ordering.
The shipping or transit estimate shown at checkout does not include production time. For example, a three-business-day carrier estimate means approximately three business days after the completed order has shipped. It does not mean the order will arrive three business days after it is placed.
Rush processing is not offered during our busy holiday season. When rush processing is available, it must be confirmed before placing an order and shortens production time only. It does not shorten carrier transit time.
Shipping Methods & Estimated Transit Times
Available shipping methods depend on the material, package dimensions, destination, and services available from the carrier.
Standard or Ground Shipping
Standard or ground packages are typically delivered within approximately 2–7 business days after shipment. Oversized tubes may take considerably longer.
USPS Priority Mail
- Fabric and fleece packages typically arrive in approximately 3–4 business days after shipment.
- Poly Paper and Vinyl tubes typically arrive in approximately 5–7 business days after shipment.
These are average transit times, not guaranteed delivery dates. Delivery time varies by destination, carrier volume, weather, and other conditions outside our control.
Poly Paper & Vinyl Tube Shipping
Poly Paper and Vinyl backdrops must be shipped in oversized tubes. Because of their length and shape, tubes travel through a different carrier network than standard packages and are more likely to experience extended transit times or gaps in tracking updates.
- Ground delivery to the East Coast and Midwest may average 2–4 weeks.
- Tracking may remain unchanged for several days while the tube is moving between facilities.
- Oversized tubes cannot be shipped through UPS.
- USPS Priority Mail may reduce transit time but still does not provide a guaranteed delivery date.
If you have a firm session deadline, we recommend ordering early or selecting a fabric or fleece material that can ship in standard packaging.
Expedited Shipping & Shipping Upgrades
UPS 2nd Day Air
UPS 2nd Day Air refers to the transit time after UPS receives the completed order. Saturday is not normally considered a business day for UPS 2nd Day Air or Next Day Air Saver.
We do not offer guaranteed Saturday delivery, Early A.M. delivery, or UPS Next Day Air at this time.
Upgrading After an Order Is Placed
If you would like to upgrade your shipping method after ordering, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to provide a quote and complete the change, but an upgrade cannot be guaranteed once an order has entered final shipment processing.
If an upgrade invoice is paid but the order is fulfilled before the change can be applied, the unused upgrade charge will be refunded. If the upgraded service is successfully applied but the carrier delivers later than its estimate, the upgrade charge is not refundable unless that carrier service includes an applicable delivery guarantee.
Shipping Rates, Substitutions & Bulk Orders
Shipping Rates
Checkout shipping rates are calculated using the package and destination information available at the time of purchase. Final carrier costs are confirmed when the completed order is packaged, weighed, and processed.
If the final cost is lower than the amount collected, we will refund the applicable difference. If the final cost is higher, we may send an invoice for the remaining balance before the order ships.
Comparable Shipping Substitutions
If the amount paid does not cover the selected service, we may use a comparable carrier or service level to prevent unnecessary delays. If no comparable option is available, we will contact you regarding the difference.
If you do not want a comparable carrier or service substitution, please contact us immediately after ordering. Any shipping shortage will need to be paid before shipment.
Bulk and Large-Quantity Orders
Large orders may require multiple packages because of carrier size and weight restrictions. The online shipping calculator may initially calculate the order as one combined shipment and may not account for every additional box.
When additional shipping is required, we will contact you and send an invoice for the difference. Depending on the circumstances, production or shipment may be held until the shipping balance is paid.
Addresses, Refused Packages & UPS Access Points
Shipping Address
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address. Please include all applicable apartment, suite, unit, business, studio, or shopping-center information.
UPS cannot deliver to a P.O. Box. A complete physical address must be provided when selecting a UPS service.

Please use caution when shipping to a UPS Access Point. We cannot guarantee that an Access Point will accept a package of your order’s size or shape. This is especially important for oversized backdrop tubes.
Refused or Returned Packages
If a package is refused or returned because of an incomplete address, incorrect address, inaccessible delivery location, unaccepted Access Point, or customer refusal, the original shipping charge is non-refundable. The customer is also responsible for any return fees and the cost of reshipping the order.
International, Alaska, Hawaii & Puerto Rico
International Orders
Customs fees, import duties, brokerage charges, and taxes are not included in the order or shipping total unless specifically stated at checkout. These charges are determined by the destination country and are the customer’s responsibility.
If an international package is refused or returned because customs charges, duties, or taxes were not paid, the customer is responsible for all resulting carrier fees and return shipping charges. Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Other Locations
Some destinations may require additional shipping because of package size, carrier limitations, or remote-area fees. If additional payment is required, we will contact you before shipment.
Tracking, Carrier Delays & Delivery Dates
A shipping confirmation email containing tracking information will be sent after the order leaves our facility. Please allow time for the carrier to accept the package and display its first tracking scan.
Tracking dates are estimates generated by the carrier and may change while the package is in transit. Weather, seasonal volume, staffing, routing, service interruptions, and other carrier conditions may cause delays.
Please do not schedule a photography session based solely on an estimated delivery date. We recommend waiting until the order has been received and inspected before confirming sessions that depend on the backdrop.
Carrier delays do not make a correctly produced, made-to-order backdrop eligible for a return, exchange, or refund. Shipping charges are not refundable solely because a carrier delivers later than its estimate, except where an applicable carrier guarantee or law requires otherwise.
Once tracking confirms delivery, customers are responsible for retrieving and securing the package promptly. Please select a safe delivery address where oversized packages can be accepted.
Damaged Packages & Missing Package Claims
If Your Backdrop Arrives Damaged
You must contact us within 48 hours of delivery if your order arrives damaged. Please keep the backdrop, tube or box, shipping label, and all packaging while the claim is reviewed.
Please provide clear photographs showing:
- The complete exterior of the shipping tube or box
- The shipping label and tracking number
- Any crushed, torn, punctured, wet, or otherwise damaged areas
- The full backdrop
- Close-up photographs of the damage to the backdrop
This documentation is required to review the issue and file a carrier claim. Once received, we will provide instructions regarding the next steps.
If Your Package Appears to Be Missing
For U.S. orders, please contact us if the package has not arrived within 15 days of the shipment date. Packages are often delayed rather than lost, but a missing-package review may begin after the required waiting period.
For international orders, a missing-package inquiry may generally begin after at least 25 days have passed from the shipment date. Carrier filing periods may vary by country and service.
Replacement backdrops are not sent until the required missing-package process has been completed and the claim has been approved. Because oversized tubes frequently experience transit delays, a Poly Paper or Vinyl replacement will not be issued until at least 25 days have passed from the shipment date.
Missing-package concerns must be reported to us within 45 days of shipment. Carrier claims have filing deadlines. If we are contacted after the applicable filing period has expired, we may be unable to file a claim, provide a replacement, or issue a refund.

Contact HSD BackdropsUnless specifically identified as an in-use photograph, our product images show the digital artwork and are not exact printed color proofs. Colors displayed on an illuminated screen may appear brighter or more vibrant than colors printed on a backdrop. Printed whites and other light neutrals will generally appear softer and less luminous than they do on a screen.
Color can also vary based on the selected backdrop material, monitor settings, lighting, camera settings, white balance, editing, and surrounding colors. In-use photographs are provided for inspiration and should not be used as exact color references.
We cannot guarantee that a backdrop will exactly match a particular floor, prop, outfit, paint color, or décor item. Normal screen-to-print and material-related color variation is expected and is not considered a manufacturing defect.

Products are made to order and generally final sale.
Incorrect customer selections are not eligible for traditional returns or exchanges.
Shipping damage must be reported within 48 hours.
