Shipping Notice

Shipping times are beyond our control, and we’re unable to accept returns, exchanges, or issue refunds due to carrier delays.

Poly Paper and Vinyl backdrops ship in oversized tubes, which often take longer in transit and are more prone to delays. For orders shipping to the East Coast or Midwest, the average delivery time is 2–4 weeks for poly paper/vinyl with ground shipping. It’s also normal for tracking updates to pause for several days during transit.

To help avoid extended shipping times, we recommend choosing fabric or fleece materials or upgrading to USPS Priority Mail at checkout. Please note that tubes cannot be shipped via UPS.

Order early to ensure timely delivery.


Processing & Shipping Information

Our photo backdrops are made-to-order based on the design, size, and material selected by the customer. Processing times vary depending on the chosen material and the current volume of orders.

If you need your order rush processed, please reach out to us about adding rush processing before placing your order. Please note that rush processing shortens production time only — it does not include shipping time.

For your convenience, we offer several shipping options through UPS and USPS:

  • Standard/Ground Shipping: Typically delivered within 2–7 business days.

  • USPS Priority Mail: Typically delivered within 3–4 business days for fleece/fabric and 5–7 business days for poly paper and vinyl, and prioritized by USPS. However, delivery times are not guaranteed and are non-refundable per USPS policy.

Shipping timeframes vary depending on the delivery location and the shipping method selected at checkout.


Shipping Upgrades: UPS 2nd Day

Please note that UPS does not consider Saturday a business day for 2nd Day Air or Next Day Air Saver services. We do not offer guaranteed Saturday delivery or Early AM delivery options, as these services require additional fees and are only available for select locations. We are not shipping UPS Next Day Air at this time.


Changing Shipping Methods

If you need to upgrade your shipping method to an expedited option after placing your order, we’ll do our best to accommodate the request. However, we cannot guarantee that we’ll be able to intercept the package or complete the upgrade once the order has entered production or shipment processing.


Shipping Substitutions

We do our best to provide accurate shipping rates, but occasionally the quoted amount may differ from the actual cost. If the shipping fee paid at checkout does not cover the selected shipping method, we may choose an alternative carrier or service level to prevent delays, or an invoice will be sent for the difference if no comparable option is available.

If you need your order by a specific date and prefer no substitutions, please contact us right away. In those cases, an invoice will be sent for any shipping shortage.


Refused Packages & UPS Access Points

HSD Backdrops is not responsible for refused packages. If a package is refused or returned to us, shipping fees are non-refundable, and the customer is responsible for the cost to reship the package.

Please ensure your shipping address is complete and accurate at checkout. We are also not responsible for packages shipped to UPS Access Points or incomplete addresses (such as missing suite numbers or store names at shopping centers). If a package is returned due to an incomplete or Access Point address, the customer will be responsible for the reshipment fee.


International Shipping

Please note that your order total does not include customs fees, import duties, or taxes. These fees are the responsibility of the buyer and are not included in the shipping total at checkout.

If a package is refused or returned due to unpaid customs or duties, the customer will be responsible for all related fees, including return shipping costs. No refunds will be issued for the order or original shipping charges.


Shipping Quotes

All shipping quotes are estimates and may not always reflect the final shipping cost. Actual rates are determined once the order is packaged, weighed, and processed for shipment.

If the final shipping cost is less than the quoted amount, a refund will be issued for the difference.
If the actual cost is higher than the quoted amount, an invoice will be sent for the remaining balance prior to shipment.


Important Notes

  • HSD Backdrops is not responsible for delayed or stolen packages and will not refund orders or shipping if your delivery does not arrive when expected.

  • Please do not schedule shoots based on the estimated delivery date shown in tracking, as this date is not guaranteed.

  • Expedited shipping does not speed up processing time — only the transit time once the order ships.

  • Once your order has shipped, you’ll receive a confirmation email with tracking details.

UPS does not deliver to P.O. Boxes. If selecting UPS, please use a physical address.

Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and some other locations may be billed for additional shipping costs.

Q: My backdrop arrived damaged. What can I do?

A: If you receive a damaged product YOU MUST CONTACT US WITHIN 48 HOURS OF RECEIPT. We will need photos of the damage to the shipping tube and damage to the backdrop. These photos are required for us to file a claim. After we have received the photos of the damage we will provide you with instructions on to proceed.  

Q: My package appears to be lost. What can I do? 

A: If your package does not arrive within 15 days from the ship date, please reach out to us. In most cases, it is simply delayed, but we can begin a missing package search after 15 days for U.S. orders. Please note that our insurance provider will not review a missing package claim until 15 days have passed since shipment. For international orders, we can file a missing package claim after 30+ days.

Replacement backdrops will not be shipped until a missing package claim has been filed and approved. Due to frequent shipping delays with oversized tubes (poly paper and vinyl), replacements for these materials will not be sent until at least 25+ days have passed from the ship date.
