It’s Almost Spring Photoshoot Time!

It may sound cliché, but Spring is “right around the corner!” This time of year is exciting for most Americans, but especially for photographers. Professional and amateur photographers spend hours scouting for the perfect location to capture lasting, memorable springtime images! With that in mind, you may struggle finding the perfect field of flowers or grassy hillside to capture your perfect image. Never fear, thanks to high-quality photo backdrops, you can create just about any Spring related photoshoot you desire!

WHAT MAKES A GREAT SPRING SHOOT?

The perfect spring photo shoot only lives in the mind and imagination of the photographer. One may choose to capture the rain showers that bring flowers in following weeks. Others may choose to highlight the newly growing grass. In any case, it is much easier to find the perfect look if you go with a photo backdrop versus trying to find the exact look in nature. Some photographers will push back against moving indoors to conduct Springtime shoots because it goes against the feeling of the season. However, if you happen to live in a part of the country where Spring doesn’t always consist of flowering fields and warming afternoons, you’ll have to do what you can do recreate that look indoors.

HOW TO DECIDE

If you’re a professional, the best way to decide is to consider the client’s needs and wants. Remember, they’re paying the bill, so even if it’s not something that you love, it may well be important to them. That’s part of being a professional. It’s your job to help them through the decision points associate with creating the right finished product. Sit down with them and walk through some possible Spring backdrops and talk through the pros and cons. For example, show them the possibilities associated with something whimsical like a Woodland Critters backdrop against something more traditional and floral like Pastel Paper Flowers. Walking them through the possibilities may help trigger more ideas. The bottom line…you’ll have a better experience in the end if you bring the client into the decision-making process.

If you’re an amateur photographer, think about what the point of the photo shoot is to you! If you’re creating art for yourself, then you are your own client! If you are trying to create a portfolio that will allow you to become a professional one day, you’ll need to think like a pro and begin to put other people’s desires into the equation.

USE THE BEST PHOTO BACKDROPS AVAILABLE

Regardless of which design you go with, the priority is to buy the best backdrop you can afford based on your current and future needs. That means if it is going to be a one-time use, then you should choose the most affordable, short-term option. The poly-paper backdrops are very durable and will have no problem typically getting you through the Spring season if you take care of them. If it’s a traditional backdrop that you will use over and over again, consider spending a little more for a higher quality and more durable canvas or fabric backdrop.
